The goals of the Department’s program are to cultivate students with the competencies to become professional English teachers, and talents development for English language, training and offering English teaching guidance for secondary education schools. Recently, to meet the change of MOE policies in cultivation of foreign language talents, and university’s developmental missions, the Department redefines its goals are below:

1. To cultivate students in English teaching and researchers in English Literature, Linguistics, and TESOL.
2. To cultivate education professionals with holistic educational and specialized scholars in English language studies.
3. To cultivate applied foreign language professionals to meet the needs in a diverse society.
4. To cultivate professionals to integrate the theory with the practice in TESOL to meet the need of the various industries.
